应兰州大学核科学与技术学院Marco Ruggieri教授邀请，Indian Institute of TechnologyGoa的Santosh Kumar Das副教授将于2019年12月11日-21日来我校开展学术交流活动并作学术报告。
报告题目：Heavy quark dynamics in QCD matter produced in the heavy-ion collisions
The heavy quarks - charm and bottom, constitutes a unique probe of theQuark Gluon Plasma (QGP) properties. The basic concepts related to thestudy of the dynamics of the heavy quarks in the quark-gluon plasma createdin heavy-ion collisions at relativistic energies will be discussed. I shall discussthe difficulties of the present theoretical approach to provide a self-consistentdescription of the experimental data both at BNL-RHIC and CERN-LHC energiesand the recent developments. The impact of pre-thermal Glasma phase on heavyquark observable will be discussed and its consequence on experimental observableswill be highlighted. Finally,I shall present our recent results on heavy quark dynamicsin small system produced in p-nucleus collisions at CERN-LHC energy.
Santosh Kumar Das, Ph.D. graduated from Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre in 2012 with the thesis “Heavy Flavor Production and Propagation in Heavy Ion Collision”. After his graduation, He started his postdoc career in INFN-LNS. During the postdoc career, he was awarded the Seal of excellence from European Commission. From Dec. 2017 to Aug. 2018 He worked in Lanzhou University as an associate professor. In 2018, he got the assistant professor position in Indian Institute of Technology. His research interests are Heavy-ion Collisions, QCD at High Temperature, Application ofTransport Theory.
